Reading Town v Harrow Borough

Post  BRAMLEY on Mon Aug 01, 2011 6:54 am

First taste of a PSF for me yesterday. The side were well marshalled at the back by Danny Lingwood and the back four all had tidy games. I appreciate that we had few recognised forwards available for this match and Piercey did well up front and took his chance well. Number 12 (sorry don't know who you are), got through mountains of work in midfield as did Jordan who continues to look comfortable at this level now. Richard Witt looks to be an asset and with others competing for places in the next couple of weeks there is some shape to the side.
Harrow Borough used a shed load of players in this fixture and it was great to see them particularly as they had another fixture to fulfill elsewhere on the same afternoon. Good football played with no malice - excellent.
More things to be learnt on Tuesday & Thursday and looking forward to those matches.

Match Highlights: Reading Town 1-0 Harrow Borough http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FrJFUOc9K78

Reading Town will be looking to build on their performance from Saturday's 1-0 win against Harrow Borough this Tuesdays when they play local rivals Sandhurst Town at Scours Lane.

Mark Bartley's men looked the more threatening in the first half with Cousineau hitting the post with three minute before the interval and then the follow up being blasted over by Richard Witt. The Reading boys got on the scoresheet in the 61st minute when Cousineau put a teasing ball into the box from the right hand side and Piercy was on hand to slot the ball into the back of the net to give the Town a 1-0 lead. Reading Town continued to pose a goal threat which saw the ball rocket over the bar and the visiting keeper making a fine save to prevent another goal. The Town will be hoping to build on this performance when they take on Sandhurst Town on Tuesday.
