What will it take?

Post  BRAMLEY on Sun Jan 23, 2011 11:12 pm

Clearly the 1st team are on a poor run at the moment.
What will it take in fan's opinions to steady the ship and get back to winning ways?

The lads need to get a good win under their belt, which includes a clean sheet as the lad's can build on that. Also more communication on the pitch there seem to be a lack of that at the moment just look at the first two goals yesterday and also more determination/team spirit which always plays a key role in winning games and playing well as a unit. What do you others think?

Somebody else out there must have some constructive opinion/criticism on the subject?
Dare I say it - even Koshi is quiet on this one!

Hello boyssssss, did you miss me?

Ok lets get down to business!!!! Ive not been down to the Lane this year to see the shambles that is RTFC, but it's quite obvious that something is amiss and i don't just mean the strikers shooting either! With South Reading pizzing the league and are pretty much home and dry, maybe they will loan you Raymondo Spence to see out the rest of the season?

I have somewhat of a sympathy for Roddy because this season was a non starter from the off. It's hard to believe the team a year ago looking promotion certainties to the Southern League to what's happening now, but if things have not improved by the end of the season then somethings got to give...whether that's Roddy or some of the players, or both. There needs to be drastic change for next season or it could be testing for even the hardcore supporters to go and watch it.

By the way, which players have stood out for you this season that if there is a cull of players come the end of the season, who would you think would be worth retaining?

That's one of the good things about park football mate, it's free, and another is being local so even if you lose you're not too worried as you don't feel cheated out of money or travel cost/time. I don't go down and watch Whitley Tavern so much now as i used to as i used to go and see half the Reading Town team put on a Tavern shirt on a sunday morning and was also free to watch Wink

It is not often that I post my view of the team but (deep breath} here goes:-
The desire to play at this level comes from the players and is the responsibility of every individual.
Training and the associated team spirit is a joint effort between team and management - nobody can opt out!
Hard work combined with purposeful practise produces results.
You are being backed by a Chairman and Secretary that have seen many RTFC teams through thick and thin and understand how to survive and prosper.
The supporters will back you guys at home and whenever possible away from home (and have done so).
Everybody here wants you to enjoy your football and relish in your team skills.
Sometimes it is nice to feel appreciated when you have sung for almost 90 minutes irrespective of the end result!

So, Cashin Murray cashed in, and Brett Rann has done a runner. At this rate we (The Barmy Army) will be supporting our selves!
