READING TOWN WEB SITE

Post  BRAMLEY on Sun Jan 09, 2011 10:22 pm

Just wanted to get some other views about the Web Site for the Club.
First of all, I would like to thank John for developing the existing site that includes many options covering not only the 1st team but all other sections.
It has regular videos and match reports and in my view is as good as you are likely to find in non league football.
It is proposed to change to a Pitchero site from Monday evening for reasons that are beyond my understanding.
If you have views on this matter please make your feelings known on here or direct to John.

John is doing a great job with the site. Unless there is a reason why John can not continue with the site, I can not see why we have to move a Pitchero site?

The best move we could make is to go for a .com or .co.uk on the current site, webs/freewebs does provide this option at extra cost, which would not break the banks, if we could entice fans to part with some money. This is less than an additional £100 a year if memory serves.

As above i don't think there's too much wrong with the existing site but if there could be any improvements if it's possible John, would be to tidy up the forum and have the thread topics sectioned and not all subjects lumped all together. So for example a matchday section, ladies team section, youth team, rumours, ex players/managers news, merchandise, ground improvements, anything else etc etc it's sometimes a case of checking other club websites and taking the best ideas off some of them.

Why do I get the feeling I have been had? The Pitchero format is a lot better than the freewebs. Great job John. What about a Barmy Army page?

Disagree entirely with the Pitchero format. Very bland in my opinion.
If everybody else disagrees with me, then que sera sera - I will not be posting or viewing.
What is wrong with being different and opinionated anyway?

That's fine, I think the format is good and i would say a better than freewebs. I have kept the forum so you can still post here and hey just give it a chance you might just like it.

No it's up and running like always for some reason the .co.uk takes you to the search menue of pitchero.
