Striker Thomas signs for Town

Reading Evening Post by David Wright wrote:Reading Town could hand a debut to new signing Dean Thomas tomorrow as the unbeaten Hellenic League leaders entertain Pegasus Juniors at Scours Lane (3pm).

The 30-year-old vastly experienced striker, who can also play as an attacking midfielder, joins the club from Southern League Midlands Division outfit Aylesbury United.

Town boss Colin Millard finds himself short of strikers with Graeme Lewis and Danny Williamson both on the injured list, and so the capture of former Bracknell Town ace Thomas – who also has experience with Luton Town – will boost his title charge.

With Aaron Parfitt on holiday to celebrate his 21st birthday, Millard asked Ross Herridge to travel down from university in Lancashire for last Tuesday’s match with Carterton.

It was a good decision as Herridge celebrated his first appearance of the season by netting in a 4-2 win.

Herridge had to return to Preston to play for his university against York St John’s on Wednesday, but is prepared to make another long journey back to Reading this weekend.
