Writing from Crete

Post  RTFC Barmy Army on Tue Jul 14, 2009 3:38 am

I jetted off to Crete from Gatwick on Friday at about 10pm and it took 4 hours to get there. The air con in the plane was rubbish and it was so hot I couldn't get to sleep which was really annoying. By the time we got to the hotel about 5:30 am I was knakered, It wasfar too hot outside and I was extremely tired. After Breakfest I had a nice swim in the warm pool which is just what I needed to wake me up. Second day of the holiday (Sunday) I just lazed around the pool trying to get a sun tan and in the evening listened to a singer at the hotel beside the pool. Today 3rd day in Crete, I went to a water park this afternoon which was great fun with some fast slides.

PS: I am so gald that England drew the 1st test against Australia in the ashes!!!!!

Sounds as though you are now beginning to enjoy your holiday Combesy.
Glenn was impressed with Englands back to the wall display and fears for the worst in the remaining Tests.
Siddle is going to get such a sledging if he ever gets to bat - bring it on!!
Finally, keep the holiday commentary coming every few days as I am having trouble getting to sleep lately.

Tuesday, I just lazed around the pool getting sun burnt and then enjoyed watching the magician in the evening (he used a number of animals in his tricks and also did a number of rope tricks which was fun to watch.) Wednesday went into the old Town which was interesting but like a maze so you could easily get lost in it.) Today not really doing much, just decided to buy a paper to see what's happening back in the UK and relaxing by the pool.

Not many English people at the hotel which is annoying.......so havn't met any mates so far Embarassed I see Andrew Flintoff is retiring from Test Crcket after the Ashes Shocked.

Anyway speek to you later people.

I just got stuck in a lift with an old women and we were going from floor 0-4 for about 10 minutes. She spoke no English which made things just a little bit harder. I got out in the end......thank god.

Combesy - are you safe or have you been bitten by the stray dog or the elderly woman?
Everyone at Scours Lane is fearing for your safety!!
